Technical Setup
Not at this time, but a quote proposal PDF is retrievable from the coterie dashboard or by visiting this website: https://dashboard.coterieinsurance.com/quoteproposal/
Note this is not an API endpoint, it is a website.
There are three policies statuses.
Pending: The Policy is active but is pending payment. We will keep it in pending until payment is received. This typically will only apply to partners that are billing policy holder's directly.
Active: Policy is active.
Canceled: Policy is canceled.
No, with the exceptions of speed of results.
Yes, the policy documents will be generated by Coterie Insurance and emailed to the policy holder. There also is an end point in the API documentation where you can generate a URL to create the policy docs.
The policy start date defaults to the current date and at 00:00 hours. Please use the format "startDate": "2020-11-11T06:00:00+00:00" and make sure to add the Date and Time so that our default does not kick in and prevents you from binding the policy since it will default to a past time as 00:00 is the first hour of the current date.
Because of the speed at which we qualify and offer policies, the 'broker/agent of record' is that producer which binds the policy with Coterie. We do not block quotes on the same customer.
Application Ids are not required for additional quotes, but we do recommend using the same applicationId for as many quotes as possible to simplify the remarketing campaign process among others, etc.
Quotes last a few weeks and we plan to implement a dataset 'goodFor' in the future.
We view it as applications (details about the insured) which have a 1:Many relationship with quotes and policies. The application should remain the same, but quotes can change over time (although it is rare).
Currently, quotes rates are subject to change at anytime.
If the quote is accurate, we would bind it at the same price. If a policy is not "Ready to Bind" status, then the rate is just an estimate and should only be relied upon for that reason.
No, it is the Products Completed Aggregate limit.
Our recommendation is to stick with two times the GL limit as is customary with industry practice.
Any breaking changes will be reflected in a new API version, we are working on a partner communication that will go out with any updates / new features for partners.
We roll out new features every two weeks, but most of these do not impact our partners. If they do, we will let you know the details.
5111111111111 or 4242424242424242 expiration in the future and cvv 111
Spinnaker = 24376
Clear Spring = 15563

Yes the policy webhook should provide updated premium information.
We only support a single location, each for mailing address and physical address.
This will be provided by your partner integration manager during setup.
We identify all entities by the channel partner token that is passed with authorization. Furthermore, we have agency and producer levels of deeper attribution.For agency attribution agencyId need to be added to the body of requests as agencyexternalId and for producer attribution producer needs to be added as the validation token with this syntax: token producer_{producerId}
There is no limit to test calls or production calls. However, if you plan on doing any volume testing, please let us know so that we can make our partners aware of any increased traffic.
Lines of Business and Appetite
BOP and GL are available across all 50 states. PL product is available in all states except for: CO, LA, MA, MT, NH, ND, VA, DC, FL, MN, and NY.
Currently, standalone GL and PL policies are not location-specific, with the exception of Medical Offices industries. However, Property coverage provided on the BOP policy IS location-specific. If multiple locations require property, separate BOPs are required with sales/payroll allocated accordingly.
The GL Limit coverage options are: 300,000, 500,000, 1,000,000
We have a $500 Property Damage Liability deductible but this can be raised if desired.
Maximum per limit coverage. Options include $25,000, $50,000, $100,000, $250,000, $500,000, $750,000, $1,000,000.
Our Products/Completed Operations Aggregate is typically two times the GL occurrence limit. With this as our GL option, $2M would be the highest limit.
No, there are no additional state-specific requirements requiring additional information at this time. We do not need state-specific pre-fill info is needed based on the classes we are writing.
